Beyoncè Singing At The Bryant’s Memorial Is Reminding Us All Why She Is Queen

Beyoncè just sang her heart out at Kobe and Gianna Bryant’s “Celebration Of Life” memorial service.

Can we just take a moment to recognize the greatness that is Beyonce? Today was Kobe and Gianna Bryant’s public memorial service. Leave it to be Beyonce to surprise us all with a surprise performance. The beautiful celebration was held in Los Angeles at the Staples Center.

How beautifully fitting and special that the arena that Kobe Bryant grew and excelled, be the place the world remembers his legacy. In such a time of sadness, Beyoncè brought joy and a smile to the audience. All of us watching at home stared in awe as well as she opened the ceremony with the voice of an angel.

At the start, Beyoncé appears merely as a silhouette. She is dressed stunningly in a Lakers yellow suit. She softly begins singing “XO.” After telling us all how much she loved Kobe (we did too Bey) she stated the song was one of Kobe’s favorite songs.  “I’m here because I love Kobe,” she told the audience, right before asking us all to stop and sing with her.

In true Beyoncè fashion she was accompanied by a heavenly choir and an entire band. She closed the medley with Halo. Because of the calming mood and tranquil effect of the song, it was a perfect choice for such an occasion. The entire performance was so touching and angelic.

Not that we needed reminding, but wow! Beyoncè never lets us forget why she is queen. From the simplicity, to the glamour, down to her amazing voice it was a regal experience.
